I believe the docs are just a bit unclear.

Your laptop does not have a standard M4 Chip it has an M4 Pro chip.

The 14in MacBook Pro comes/came with 3 chips types M4, M4 Pro, M4 Max

The model they are referencing is the base M4 and M5 chips - not the Pro or Max chips types which use the other port.
