I had this experience with Adobe as well. Cancelled inside my account, but credit card charges continuned.

Adobe and others use services that provide them with your new credit card expiry dates so they keep billing.

Adobe can be messaged on twitter to document them not fixing things. Companies can actually reverse 18-24 months of charges.
