I used to get tickets for speeding. These days I let Autopilot set the speed and just chill. I'm not as concerned with passing or being passed when I've delegated the accelerator, and the trip time difference is negligible.

Hills are the exact reason to use the speed control. It drives me crazy that drivers don’t know how and when to engage it, go 50 up hills and 85 down the other side.


50 up 85 down is the natural way to drive. It’s a waste of fuel to brake downhill (beyond reason).

Lol. Yep, and not to mention regenerative braking on EVs actually recoups and stores the energy as it slows the vehicle's descent!

It can brake with the engine (clutch)


Does it? I never seen that. Usually even a slight downhill causes my CC to just not control the speed.


I drive a toyota that does, you can hear the engine revving. I also drive a ford with a powershift (or powershit) and it only disengages the clutch
