I guess we all appreciate the traditional Unix shell as an incredibly stable tool over the last 50 years (!). But let's face it, it's hard to justify that a kid born in this millennia should learn & use this antiquated & obscure software.
My fear is I suspect the success of those YAML based Ansible or Github Actions tools is the result of people being afraid or tired of writing shell scripts.
But let's face it those are abominations because it lock you in a platform and you end up drowning in way too many YAML files.
So yes I believe we need an ambitious update to the Unix shell and the Nushell team did a pretty good job. If we don't we will have to deal with many of those "automation" platforms & their poor configuration "languages".
