That claim smells... unless they're deploying their own personal network throughout the US (highly unlikely) that means they're an MVNO of someone else (suspiciously missing from the announcement whose network they'd be using), which by design implies the information is totally seen by big telecom carriers.

Sure, you can VPN the network traffic, but the actual information such as location (tower triangulated), IMEI / other personal identifiers are totally tracked by the network operator.


I do wish they provided more information on the network infrastructure. As far as I know they must be an MVNO, but they don't say who they use.
