So these HFT guys doing is daytrade with options? That's quite risky.....if you are not with the trend you may blow up account quickly

Now they can watch youporn on ISS, don't forget turn it off when livestream on nasa tv.

looks like educated in west world doesn't make these folks more........democated?

maybe one day chinese people will be like Uyghur people, hated by most of the world, force to leave their country, seeking a land to live, and this DID happens before.

(Let's remind to people don't know history of china, lots of regime in mainland china are foreigner from outside, ex: 唐(dang), 元(yuan), 清(ching), and its close to be fully occupied by Japan in last centry. If not Japanese gov decided to hit Pearl Harbour, there will be no CCP dominated in mainland China now, and we may speak Japanese and rest of mainland China will be like a giant colony of Japan)

Do you mean "tang" or is it "dang"

I wonder if we could use this technique at place which gov will censored senstive data upload to streaming site like mainland china or North Korea(they do have streaming site right?)

although for propganda use, shortwave / sat tv is a much much simpler way to distribute information to place like that, but I belive now its hard to get one SW radio for anyone.

his recommendation is quite useful, I've read most of it and found most of them are approachable

Susan Rigetti is a woman.

oops

I found that she was an SRE engineer at uber, later she change corse to full time writing at some newspaper agency, what a change.

From physic to software engineering then fulltime writing, not anyone can do that

> she was an SRE engineer at uber

You might want to look into what she had to go through while she worked there. It's well known.

Also, Ms. Rigetti has similar guides for physics[1] and philosophy[2].

I intend to slowly go through her math guide over the years. I already started working through How to Prove It by Vellman.

What I am trying to solve is that when we go throghhiking / multiday hiking, we will carry a lot of stuff in backpack(around 12kg ~15kg). If not pack properly, the backpack will pull back, even worse the muscle will get hurt. Some even have hip bruise.

By get the pack right, you can have a more comfy trip, and best of all, save some bucks to (not) buy a new pack (if you are lucky)

there is another weird phenomena I seen on online forums.

Normally, get a not so comfort backpack should quite common, I knew lots of people try lots of backpacks and just can't get the right one. I suspect most of them is because of they pack their bag not (physically, or said in mechanically) wrong.

But I rare seen related content online, only few have issue with bruise hips. (hips!? really, how much you carry could cause bruise hips?)

I wonder if the search technology nowadays are broken (I use google, but sometimes I pay some visit to duckduckgo but get quite the same result)

already tried, but he just ignore me. And its not the first time he did it.

the portfolios is only part of the overall record for application process. Education ministry also requires students take standard exams.

http://www.jbcrc.edu.tw/multi3.html

its in chinese, and I guess there is no (need) for english version because rich parent who speak English will send kids abroad to better colledges.

I assumed exams still existed. But how did the portfolio get in there? Who thought "what our system needs is some extra corruption and subjectivity"?

still exists, but it depends on colledge admission board's decision to take what they want (profilo or exam or both)

Exams don’t give the whole picture.

https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/articles/coll...

but after looking the brief intro of how us colledge doing recruiting students, I believe my gov (Taiwan) is going to the (almost) same way

the point is, there is no backup for 15 days. These guys could be sued for million in US or other country.

No they couldn't. This goes on all the time, silently, at K-12 schools in the US in poorer areas, nobody cares, nobody does anything. You think Taiwan is any different than us? They're ahead of us, and if they're fucking this up, we're doing it ten-fold.

The irony is, we spend billions on a contract for the government cloud (the one that Trump famously tried to yoink from Microsoft (who won the bid fair and square) and give to his buddies at Amazon), yet we don't mandate education use at as well, only for the military.

> You think Taiwan is any different than us? They're ahead of us, and if they're fucking this up, we're doing it ten-fold.

Well, I'm a resident of Taiwan and while I think there are many wonderful things about the country, IT is not one of them and not sure how you came to the conclusion that Taiwan is "ahead of us" (assuming you're American or European).

Everything related to tech here feels like it's from the late 1990s. Web applications here generally have horrible UIs and are buggy, sometimes to the point of being basically unusable.

It's not just the front end either. See: all of the problems caused by a change to the ARC (alien resident certificate) ID numbers.

https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/4293836

This change was itself caused by problems created by the existing/old system.

quick explain to non-Taiwan guy: ARC (alien resident certificate) ID numbers is like social IDs(SSN). It (was) a separate system to our local resident one, until then.

> the one that Trump famously tried to yoink from Microsoft (who won the bid fair and square) and give to his buddies at Amazon)

Er, Trump didn't try that, and Trump hates Amazon (or, more specifically, Jeff Bezos), and the executive branch under Trump awarded it to Microsoft, fought against Amazon’s lawsuit, did a reevaluation in order to moot claims in Amazon’s lawsuit and force them back to square one and reaffirmed the award to Microsoft.

well, (at least) he creates jobs.......but I'd rather he pay teacher for higher salary
